We are deeply affected by the tragedy that occurred in Crans-Montana, a resort to which we are very attached. Our thoughts are with the victims, the injured, and with their families and loved ones in grief and distress.
We also wish to pay tribute to all those who, through their courage and dedication, rallied during these dramatic events.

We reproduce below the intercessory prayer of Pastor Gilles Cavin, father of three young girls of the same age as the majority of the victims:

We pray to God.
Faced with the scale of the tragedy that occurred in Crans, with the suffering of each and every one, and with our feeling of helplessness, we begin by keeping silence before you.

We pray for all the families, here and elsewhere, plunged into the terrible uncertainty of knowing whether their children are alive or not, fearing they may be between life and death; who are separated from them while they are being cared for far from home.
Father of heaven and earth, hear the cry of pain and hope that rises from each and every one.

Among the victims, many were apprentices, secondary-school pupils, college students, and university students. We pray for their friends, deeply affected by this misfortune, on this night that was meant to be a time of celebration and friendship.

We pray with gratitude for all the people who have committed themselves and mobilised since the tragedy: the firefighters, police officers, doctors, healthcare staff, crisis teams, volunteers, politicians, investigators.
